1. WEBnet CMS – Characteristics

WEBnet CMS is a complex component solution to create and present the content with the help of internet technologies.

Typical applications are:

  • Corporate webs (standalone applications)
  • Enterprise webs (with connection to other information systems)
  • Dedicated systems – for example to prepare books (encyclopedias)
    • (Czech and Slovak encyclopedias)
    • (Hungarian encyclopedia) 
    • (glass industry profession library)

2. WEBnet CMS – form / implementation / prizes

WEBnet CMS is used to realize software projects for clients of AION CS Limited.

WEBnet CMS is not sold as a standalone product.

 We can say that WEBnet CMS covers approximately 
  • 70 % of volume of typical corporate web 
  • 50 % of volume of an enterprise web
  What remains, typically 30 – 50 %, is a customization, which is 
  • implementation to given client conditions
  • realization and implementation of graphic design 
  • eventually, a development of special features

As to the prices, they are not given in advance. Special calculation is made for each project.

 We deliver, install and implement the whole solutions to our clients. 

Our clients than work with their data, files and content.

In the case our client does not want to buy his own hardware/software, we host his project on our servers and connectivity. 

3. WEBNet CMS – technology

WEBnet CMS is built on the last technology Microsoft ASP.NET v3.5, programming languages C# and Javascript.

As a data and application storage we use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise/Standard/Express.

To create own content, we provide WEBnet CMS 3 abilities

  • basic, most frequently used HTML editor (without additional royalties) 
  • XHTML editor (approximately € 50 per user) 
  • robust XML editor (approximately € 500 per user)

Four technologies are used in search process, usually combined

  • SQL structured seach 
  • Microsoft Search
  • Lucene
  • Tovek Server
In some projects, we use web services 

In the case of public webs, we apply steps to comply SEO recommendations.


4. WEBnet CMS – modules, components

Typically, WEBnet CMS is divided into 

  • administration portion – to manage the web 
  • presentation portion – outputs visualized by graphics layouts

The functionality is formed into quasi independent modules which interconnections often evoke the Rubic’s Cube.

4.1 USER module 

Complete administration of users

  • account creation/modification/cancelling
  • log-in
    • by name/password
    • and/or certificate
    • and/or IP address restriction
    • and/or by ciphered link

4.2 USER GROUPS module

  • ability to group users into groups

4.3 RIGHTS module

  • cooperating with USER and USER GROUPS modules, it solves the selective and personified functionality of administration and/or presentation portions.

4.4. CREDITS module

  • solves the web-application access to functions, or accessibility of documents on the basis of
    • subscribed time interval
    • credits
  That is a model similar to that used by mobile operators – flat-rate charges/prepaid phone cards. 


  •  purely administration module intended to control strictly defined offers (typically menus)

4.6 ARTICLES module 

  • complex module to administrate the content
  • the base is the article which typically
    • has the title, annotation, content, appendixes in the form of files
    • is placed into defined position in the category group (1:1)
    • typically, there is a view -mode assigned to the category 
    • it has its author and a responsible person 
    • it has a date of exhibition from/to, exhibition priority 
  • articles can be structured either by faceted classification or by semantic tree. Both approaches are able to solve both content and application properties
    • each article can be assigned to any number of semantic tree (1:n) 
    • typical usage: one branch of the semantic tree is used to hold article authors whereas another branch assigns articles to sectors, other one define accessibility, for example free, to registered or to paying users. 
  • depending on nature of the application, editor type can be selected
  • various modes of article browsing are enabled
  • ARTICLES module is multilingual. That means it supports webs exhibiting severe languages in the way that only the content is translated (the name, annotation, body) while the article structure remains untouched. 

4.7 RSS module

  •  given groups of articles are displayed in RSS XML form

4.8 DISCUSSION module

  •  enables to discuss articles, which is usual to nowadays webs

4.9 COPYRIGHT module

Additional module to ARTICLES module which controls the access to the documents and their printing in the PDF format (besides, this is the only system we know which fulfill copyright laws of Czech Republic presented by the law No 121/2000 Sb.)

4.10 E-SHOP module

  • the robust solution of digital shopping
  • payments by the card or via E-Bank

4.11 POLLS module

  •  simple voting system

4.12 BANNERS module

  • to display advertisement banners
  • including own statistics

4.13 STATISTIC module 

  • all user/article relations are stored
  • various views depending on time and user/article relation are calculated
  • they can be used both on-line and off-line

4.14 LAYOUT module 

  • to display content
    • by templates specially prepared for a given project
    • in the given graphics
    • accomplishing the user interface logic

4.15 CACHING module

  • caching of distinct modules or parts of graphical layout
  • very important for large applications
